Festival Fashion Guide

Hey,

both music and fashion play an important role in my everyday life and Festivals are 
the perfect occasion to combine these two interests of mine.

Tomorrow I am going to attend the Dockville Festival in Hamburg and I am looking
forward to a fantastic weekend with friends, good music and a lot of fun.

The weather report changes nearly every day but right now it seems as we will be lucky
 to enjoy warm temperatures and a lot of sun. I hope it will gonna stay like that as I have some clothes which I would love to wear at the Festival.

One of these items is a blouse I got some months ago on a market in London. 
I really like the shape and the pattern of the Top and I think there is no better place 
than a Festival to wear this out.

Although I really like the boho style, which tends to be a bit extravagant, I will keep my clothes quite simple as in my opinion the most important rule in terms of Festival outfits 
is that you feel comfortable. No matter how good it might look, it won`t really work out 
if you can neither walk, dance or do whatever without plucking on your top here and there every two minutes. 

Your clothes are probably not worth it to miss the band playing just in front of you.

Something else to pay attention to is to be prepared for different temperatures.
As hot it might be during the day, at some point it will get colder, therefore it is always 
a good idea to bring a jumper or jacket with you. 
Also the other way around could be the case: it might turn out warmer than you thought 
it will be. Believe me, it is never a bad idea to have an additonal pair of shorts in your bag.

Anyway, I am not completely sure yet what I will gonna wear the next days.
I will decide this quite spontanious but for you I have some photos of outfits which 
I might gonna wear. 

I have to go now and get my things together for the Festival tomorrow but I hope I can inspire the one or another of you with the following photos and that my advices were 
somehow helpful for you.

Only two more days til the Dockville 2016

Hey,

almost one year ago I wrote one of my personal favourite Blog posts so far.

This is probably due to the topic as it deals with my impressions of the Dockville 
Festival 2015. This was for sure one, if not THE best weekend in my year 2015. 
As you can tell from the article (go and read it here) I was - and still am - delighted of 
the event. Therefore, I am basically already looking forward to this years issue since 
the moment I left the Festival in the previous year. Since that I followed every announcement and news with great interest and counted the weeks til the 19th of August, when the Festival is about to take place for the tenth time. Now there are only two more nights to sleep and somehow I am not yet at the point to actually realize that.

By the way, as probably not all of you might have heard about the Dockville before:

I am talking about a Festival, which is hold each year in the south of Hamburg / Germany.

Four days long hundred of musicians from all over the world are playing at the Festival.

Besides the music art also plays an important role at the location as it creates a very special and pleasant atmosphere. Most visitors are in the age of twenty something but partly there are also older ones. All in all, it is a very peaceful and lovely Festival.

However, as soon as the official Line-Up was revealed I started to make a list with all the ones I would like to see during the Festival. Although I would have been happy to hear 

two or more of my favourite musicians performing at the event I still like the Line-Up.

Once again the organizers were able to book a great variety of musicians and therefore 

all different styles of music and I think that is also one of the reasons why the Festival 
is so popular. Nearly everybody`s taste in music will gonna be represented.

Anyway, the bands I fancy to see are these ones:

I am excited which ones I will really gonna listen to and also who else I might discover 
at this weekend.

Coldplay live in Hamburg (Deutsch)

Hallo,

wie lautet doch so schön ein Sprichwort: ,,Vorfreude ist die schönste Freude".

Noch besser als die Vorfreude ist jedoch die Art von Freude die man in dem Moment verspürt wo ein Traum in Erfüllung geht. Wobei es vielleicht untertrieben ist, dann noch von Freude zu sprechen. Ein passenderes Wort mag wohl eher Glückseligkeit sein.

Ich bin jedenfalls noch immer ein wenig euphorisiert, nachdem dieses Wochenende einer meiner am längsten gehegten Wünsche in Erfüllung gegangen ist.

Seit Jahren schon wollte ich Coldplay immer mal live sehen, allerdings hat die Band lange auf sich warten lassen, bis sie mal wieder zu uns nach Hamburg gekommen sind. 

Letzten Freitag war es jedoch endlich soweit und ich durfte neben 45 000 Tausend anderen, darunter viele weit angereiste, die Welthits der Band mitsingen und so viel klatschen bis schließlich irgendwann die Hände weh taten. 

Bis zum Tag des Konzerts hatte ich die neuen Coldplay Songs noch hoch und runter gehört. Zudem habe ich mir vorab auch einige Videos von Auftritten der Band in anderen Städten angeschaut und war jedes mal aufs neue von der Show begeistert.

Dementsprechend war die Erwartungshaltung gegenüber dem Live Konzert natürlich 
hoch, gerade weil so weltbekannte Musiker eben auch ihren Preis haben.

Trotzdem waren die Karten noch am selben Tag der Veröffentlichung ausverkauft und Tickets wurden im Nachhinein für teils mehrere hundert Euro im Internet angeboten.

Zum Glück bin ich aber noch vergleichsweise günstig an welche gekommen.

Schließlich wollte ich mir die Chance nicht entgehen lassen, wenn die Briten denn schon 

in meiner Heimatstadt spielen.

Das investierte Geld hat sich dann auch mehr als gelohnt, da meine Erwartungen auf jeden Fall erfüllt worden sind. Manche mögen es zwar Stadionpop nennen, aber mir hat diese riesige, bunte Show gefallen. Im Grunde genommen war es eine gigantische Party, 

inklusive viel Konfetti, Luftballons und Pyrotechnik. 
Ein tolles Extra waren auch die Armbänder, die jeder am Einlass bekommen hat und die 
von automatisch geleuchtet haben. So wurde die ganze Arena in ein Lichtermeer getaucht und es war noch mehr ersichtlich, wie viele Menschen an diesem Tag
zusammen gekommen waren, um mit der Band gemeinsam einen unvergesslichen Abend zu feiern. Die Stimmung hätte jedenfalls kaum besser sein können. 
Direkt vom ersten Song an sind eigentlich alle Besucher aufgestanden und haben sich wenn überhaupt nur zu den ruhigeren Liedern wieder hingesetzt. 

Zwei Stunden hat die Show gedauert, in dem die Band alle ihre Hits gespielt und irgendwie ein Gefühl von heiler Welt vermittelt hat. Zumindest für die Zeit. 
Konfetti, Stadionpop und großartigen Musikern sei dank. 

Dieses einzigartige Konzert wird mir zweifellos noch lange in besten Erinnerungen bleiben.

Ich habe dieses Mal überwiegend Videos gemacht, daher nur wenige Fotos. 

Dennoch viel Spaß beim Anschauen (und neidisch werden höhö)

Exploring: Eastbourne / United Kingdom (English)

Hello,

those of you who know me in person might know that I spend some time in April to explore another part of the UK. Probably like any other Au Pair an intention of mine was to discover the UK as much as possible during my time there. 
However, it was almost September last year when I moved to England and I am back 
in Germany since about 2 months now. 
What I am going to say is that most of the time I lived in Great Britain it was Autumn / Winter, therefore not really the best seasons to travel around and spot some of Britains most beautiful and worth seeing places. Because of that I intended to do more trips in Spring but as I left the country earlier as it was planned I missed out this oppourtinity.

Although...before I finally said good bye to England (my home for more than 7 months) 
I had the chance to visit at least one more of the cities I wanted to go which 
was Eastbourne. The city is located in the south-east of the Island and somehow not as famous as its "bigger sister" Brighton. I have been to both cities and seriously I can`t really tell why most people prefer Brighton over Eastbourne. In my opinion both towns are worth to see and moreover: they are pretty similar! The reason I wanted to visit 
Eastbourne was that there are this near by and breath-taking cliffs called Seven Sisters.
It`s not unlikely that you might have seen this sight in one or another british movie production as it is a popular location for film makers.
No wonder, the contrast of the sand coloured cliffs to the blue ocean is very picturesque!

By the way, the steep coast is a bit outside of Eastbourne but nonetheless it is easy to
get there. Just take advantage of the provided double-decker buses which start from 
the town center and run several times an hour. As it are Hop-on Hop-off tours you can also stop at other sights as well, just as you want. For example, there is a sheep centre 
on the way back to Eastbourne, which holds hundreds of various - you are right - sheeps!
Luckily the time I was there they even had lots of cute and fluffy newly born lambs.

Besides the bus tour we spend the rest of the time with walking through the (shopping) streets and for sure also went along the Pier which offered some good options for taking photos and to breathe in the fresh sea air.

Anyhow, I am glad that I was able to collect more impressions of how the Brits live.

Impressions from the Lunatic Festival 2016 (English)

it is finally summer and therefore also Festival time. Yippie!!

Nowadays huge amount of Festivals exists which are hold each year in various countries and no matter what kind of music you prefer there is a Festival for everybody. 
Each of them has something what makes them special whether it is an extraordinary location or the line-up. Some Festivals are popular all over the world such as Coachella 
or Glastonbury while others are smaller and less well-known.
However, what all Festivals have in common is that the visitors would like to escape 
the reality for a weekend and instead have a good time with their friends alongside thousand of others while some of their favourit musicians play under the open sky.

Anyway, to finally get to the point I actually would like to talk about:
nearly two weeks ago I visited my second Festival and although a little while has passed 
since than I still would like to share my impressions with you.
The Festival I attended is called Lunatic and is hold since about ten years on the 
Campus of the University of Lüneburg / northern Germany. 
Each year it is organized from local students and in my opinion they did a great job. 
I discovered the Lunatic some time last year and thought it would be cool to go there 
once in the future and so I did now at the beginning of this month.

What was special about my attendance is that I was working while the duration of 
the Festival. The event itself was sold out but I applied for a volunteer job and luckily got 
the response that I can support the staff. My task was to work behind one of the main bars and -of course- serve the drinks. I never did this kind of activity before thats why I was excited how this experience will gonna be. At the end it turned out to be a fun 
and not to difficult job even though sometimes a bit stressful if ten people at the same time would like to order. 

Besides music art plays an important role on the Lunatic Festival as well.
Nearly around every corner there is something else to spot and to marvel at. 
What else is to add, is that there are only few and more or less unknown musicians 
playing but more often than not the unknown bands of today are the stars from tomorrow.
I assume that like me most of the other visitors attended the Festival for its lovely character rather than the Line-Up anyway. 

To sum up my thoughts about the Lunatic: I am glad I was there if also a bit sad that 
due to my work I wasn`t really able to watch the concerts I wanted to see.

Before I will come to an end with this post now, there is one more thing to mention:
the weather! It wouldn`t be a blogpost of mine without talking about the weather.
Anyhow, while there were heavy thunderstorms at Rock am Ring, which was hold 
at the same weekend as the Lunatic, we had bright sunshine and warm temperatures 

all day long.

Exploring: St.Peter-Ording / Germany (June 2016)

Hello,

lately the weather has been great in the north of Germany and this was a reason why 
I went on quite a spontaneous trip earlier this week. 
The destination was St. Peter-Ording and once again I spend a fantastic day there.

Since last year this is one of my favourit places to be and luckily only about an two hours drive from Hamburg away. 
I am pretty much a person who loves to be at the sea and St. Peter is like a paradise with 
its looong and sandy beaches.

Indeed I was "busy" with being speechless again about how wide everything is.
The seashore nearly seems to be endless.

However, besides that for sure I walked along the ocean, took a sun bath, read a book and took a couple of photos as you will see.

Only for dinner I left the beach and went to my beloved Dii:ke Restaurant.
As usual I chose one of their super delicous Pizza`s and didn`t regret it.

In the following you will gonna have the opportunity to convince yourself of 
St. Peter-Ording`s beauty.

The Beach Motel is a very good choice if you consider to stay overnight in 
St. Peter-Ording but you better book your vacation months in advance as they 
usually are booked out.
